Hey gals! It’s finally 2018… Happy New Year! I’m so excited for this new year and what it will bring for me! I have never truly been this excited for a new year and a fresh start, and I’m ready to make 2018 my best year yet! Part of this is because of my resolutions. I don’t usually love resolutions because for me, they’re things that I set for the new year but never really follow through on. This year however, I decided to make my resolutions a little differently.
There are a number of things that I want to accomplish this year, but most of them are more like guidelines to live by than rules to follow. This is just because my life is really unpredictable and I have lots of change always happening. Change is good, but it makes it difficult for me to set up a routine or focus on specific tasks, especially if they are long-term. So, I made my resolutions a little more vague this year. This way, I can have the freedom to do what I want within them while still accomplishing my goals. For example, one of my resolutions is to “say yes to opportunities”. To me, this is much better than something like “take two trips this year.” This is because taking the trips isn’t really my goal- it’s to experience new things. There are many more ways to have new and exciting experiences besides traveling. By resolving to “say yes to opportunities”, I am able to have new experiences that are outside the borders of strictly travel. This way, I still accomplish my goals while having the flexibility to do what feels right to me!
Without further ado, here are my personal resolutions for 2018:
- Be authentic
- Say “Yes” to opportunity
- Say “No” to things that don’t make me happy
- Be mindful and spend time wisely
- Work hard
- Exercise 3x per week and eat mindfully
I also wanted to include some of my blog goals this year. These ones are a bit more specific because I need them to be measurable! Being honest, 2017 wasn’t my best year of blogging for many reasons, but I’m ready to jumpstart ALK and give you all great content in 2018!
Here are a few of my goals for ALK this year:
- Work with AT LEAST one professional photographer
- Set up a “Blogger Brunch”
- Reach 1,000 Instagram followers
- Consistently post AT LEAST 1x per week
- Create a new freebie for my subscribers
- Work with two new brands
And there you have it! I am incredibly excited to begin a new year with a fresh start, and to create amazing content for all of you. Happy New Year!
