Hey everyone! This post is long overdue after a stressful week of finals, moving my boyfriend and I out of school, and moving everything back in at the house. I’ve finally had some time to breathe, and I’m going to share with you all a trend I have been sporting lately due to my busy schedule, and it’s hands down my favorite, like, ever.
Athleisure has become one of the biggest trends of 2015 and 2016 and I’m loving it. Mixing style and comfort is the idea of the trend. As people are becoming more and more health conscious, everyone’s heading to the gym and running errands on their days off, with little time to worry about what they’re wearing. Thankfully, athleisure incorporates the basics of casual wear and activewear to create the most stylish, comfortable outfit you could imagine.
The best way to transition into the athleisure look is to style up your sneakers. This can be anything from your Nike running shoes or Adidas Superstars – nearly any type of sneaker will fit in. You can go for a more sporty or chic look, depending on your preferences.
The Sporty Look
This look is perfect when you’re planning a gym and errands day. Dress up your gym sneakers by pairing them with some textured black leggings and your favorite workout top. After the gym, throw on your favorite casual jacket (a windbreaker or quarter zip is perfect). Get inspired with these few sporty outfits:
The Chic Look
These looks are great for lazy shopping days or grabbing a quick lunch with friends. You only need a minute or two to put together a super trendy outfit. Try throwing on your favorite casual sneakers and a pair of joggers with a basic white tee or button-down on top. Finish it off with a detailed coat or cardigan. We all know that athleisure is our best friend on those long or lazy days. Let’s face it, if you don’t have time to pick out an outfit, you probably don’t have much time for your hair or makeup either. To go with your new wardrobe, try these quick hairstyles (that are perfect for after the gym as well), and these tips to get your makeup done in 5 minutes!
