We all have those days where we hit the snooze one time many times (totally guilty), and before you know it, you’ve got to be at work or school in the next 20 minutes. Luckily for you, I’ve just made your life a whole lot easier with a flawless five minute makeup routine to get you out the door just in time, while looking like your best self.
Start with a Good Base
Getting flawless skin starts with a good base. For a quick fix, you can swipe on some concealer and/or tinted moisturizer depending on how much coverage you want. No tinted moisturizer? No problem! Take your everyday foundation and mix it with your favorite moisturizer. This is personally my favorite way of starting off my makeup when I don’t have time for a full face of foundation. Apply with your hands for the quickest application, or my favorite, use a beauty blender to achieve a natural finish in under a minute. Finish with a dusting of a translucent setting powder. This one is my favorite.
Add some color and definition to your face with some blush or bronzer. I like to dust some bronzer just below my cheeks, around my temples, and on my jawline. If you want to go for something even quicker, a quick swipe of blush on your cheeks will do the trick. If you’re feeling daring, you can even quickly mix your blush and bronzer and apply that to your cheeks for a nice rosy glow. I like to use the Nars blush/bronzer duo after setting my foundation to add some color to my face.
Eyes & Lashes
When there’s no time for a smokey eye, a good trick is to use your bronzer just in your crease to define your eyes. Add a light shimmery color to your inner corner and brow bone as a highlight to brighten your eyes. It’s a really easy trick to define your eyes while giving you the “no makeup look”. I use the same Nars bronzer and usually pop a powder highlight like the Laura Mercier matte radiance baked powder compact in my tear duct and brow bone. Finish everything off with a quick coat of your favorite mascara.
Finish the look off with adding something to your lips! If you want a more natural look, a lip balm or gloss is a great choice. My favorite for a natural look are the Fresh sugar lip treatments. They’re great for a little color plus hydration for dry lips. If you want to look a little more done-up, a bold lip is the way to go. I like to use the Ciate London liquid velvet moisturizing matte liquid lipstick. I love the bold colors that it comes in. Although it’s a matte lipstick, they’re not terribly drying like other matte lipsticks, making them great for everyday wear.
